“Every mother is preparing her child to belong to the society that we all share. It doesn’t seem to much to say that the whole of civilisation depends on the work of mothers.” Naomi Stadlen

I have worked with children and families for over twenty years. Starting in an inclusive nursery in Brighton and moving across education, play, training and family support..

My daughter was born in 2017 and I soon realised I wanted to focus more specifically on pregnancy and postpartum.

This came from my own experience - I had no idea how much support is needed during the postnatal time, that breastfeeding could be really difficult and that without close community the early months of motherhood can be desperately lonely.

I have since completed lots of training with brilliant organisations such as Red Tent Doulas, Conscious Birthing, the International Association of Infant Massage, the Women’s Health Academy, Aromatherapy for Childbirth and Heart-led Celebrants.

I believe the postnatal time is such an incredible period of transition, healing and bonding which deserves to be honoured and nurtured.

It’s now such a pleasure for me to support families as they prepare for birth and during postpartum; cooking nourishing, seasonal food, sharing information and helping mothers rest and gently adjust to life with a new baby. I love facilitating private or community ceremonies to honour pregnancy and motherhood.

Food bundles and care packages reach families in Lewes and beyond – making a wonderful gift of nourishment when it’s needed most.

Community classes weave together my experience in training, Early Years, family support and inclusive play; offering gentle, relaxed spaces for parents to come together, share ideas and discover new ways to communicate and play with their baby.

I am co-founder of the Lewes Birth Collective - a community initiative of parents and practitioners working to make it easier for families to access information & support. I facilitate two weekly community drop-in sessions with infant feeding support and a regular Pregnancy Circle

If you are pregnant, in the early months with your baby or have a loved one who is, contact me for a free consultation - I may be able to support in-person or online prenatally, provide home visits during postpartum, facilitate a ceremony or send a lovingly hand-made care package by post!
